After asking the public for nominations, a shortlist was then compiled by a panel of industry experts and put to a public vote to decide our winning businesses for the two Community and a Business awards.

We were asked by the team at North Yorkshire based ShuttleSocks to update and refresh their current website.
A locally run business selling a range of colourful game bird socks, the business had grown steadily over the last 18 months and had plans to expand their product range and reach over the coming year.

We updated and streamlined the look of the site, including refreshing the shop element to make it more user friendly and creating a trade section to the site for the growing B2B element.

BERT'S BARROW
PRESS COVERAGE & SOCIAL MEDIA MANAGEMENT
During the coronavirus lockdown period in the Spring of 2020, we were approached by the team at Bert's Barrow in Hillam near Selby, who were in the process of switching their business from a traditional farm shop to a drive-thru in line with social distancing measures.

The first farm shop in the country to make the switch, we were able to obtain some fantastic coverage for Bert's which saw them feature in a number of regional and industry publications including the Farmers Weekly and the Northern Farmer as well as owner Charlotte
appearing on BBC Radio Leeds.

During this unprecedented time the team also needed help with their social media management to further promote the new business and maintain its momentum. We took over the management of their social accounts to allow them to get on with the day job!

ROOTS FARM SHOP
AWARD ENTRIES
Awards are an important part of marketing food and drink businesses and a great way of setting yourself apart from the competition.
Done properly, the publicity they can generate from getting shortlisted to actually winning can make a huge impact on your sales!

There are lots of fantastic awards in the industry, both regionally and nationally meaning that the competition can be fierce and to make your entry stand stand out from the crowd takes lots of time and effort - something that's at a premium for small rural businesses.
We've worked with Roots Farm Shop and Cafe this summer to pull together a number of award entries for both local and national awards. Collating over a decades worth of news, initiatives and innovation into an award entry takes some serious (wo)man hours, but its been a great team effort... so watch this space!
